Thinking back over the past several days, there were 3 events that happened that I thought were worth passing on or making a comment about
By definition an “event” can be a gathering of individuals who meet at an arranged place and time in order to discuss or engage in some common interest
Event 1
On Friday I was listening to a webinar on yourwebsiteengineer.com. Dustin Hartzler offers these webinars at a low cost or even for free. I am not sure how many people were watching but Dustin seemed to be getting plenty of great questions
The subject of the webinar was “Running WordPress Locally”. Now, I have been using MAMP and WAMP and running WordPress locally (or even on a USB drive) for a few years, so I was looking forward to hear Dustin talk about something I was very familiar about.
Much to my surprise, I quickly found myself blown out of the water (once again). Dustin was talking about Desktop Sever, a program by ServerPress which (simply put) allows a user to download or create a WordPress site and then upload the entire contents and database to a server with little or no problems.
After the webinar I was struck by the fact that it seems that the more I learn about WordPress, the more there is to learn!
Event 2
WordCamp Dayton is being held on March 7 and 8, 2014 in Dayton, Ohio. The call for speakers is now out and I submitted a session. I might offer to do a session on how to find WordPress help. If nothing else, I will volunteer again.
As always, meeting new WordPress people and networking with people I have met previously is a big part of any WordCamp. I hope the weather holds out. Ohio is not known for good weather in early March.

Event 3
AND shame on me for missing this great event!
WordSesh 2 was held beginning Friday evening 6:00 EST (I think) and running for 24 hours.
24 hours of WordPress, 2 speakers every hour! Holy crap, Batman!
I was most impressed with the list of speakers and sessions.
AND I missed it! (*&^%$ ((*@$$%
The good thing is that all of the sessions were recorded and are available on YouTube.
