Congratulations! Hats Off! Two thumbs up! Whatever you want to call it, WordCamp Ann Arbor was a great event.

The organizers, volunteers and speakers all did a great job. I did not hear what the attendance was but it looked like 130 to 140 people were in attendance.  The venue, the Michigan League, was fantastic. Built in the 1930’s with donations from University of Michigan female alumni, the building is in great condition and had plenty of rooms that were great for a WordCamp.

There were three tracks set up for users, business and developers. The sessions were varied, relevant and interesting. I sat in on 2 sessions that dealt with security and I certainly had my eyes opened. The security sessions were presented by Mark Montague of the University of Michigan and Joe Herbrandson of Sucuri.

I also sat in on Marc Benzakein’s session. Marc was assisted by his 9 year old son, who had a lot to add to the presentation. It sounds like Server Press is going to come out with some of big news sometime in the next few months.

Dustin Hartzler of Your Website Engineer presented You’re Doing It Wrong -13 Mistakes WordPress Beginners Make. I have been listening to Dustin’s podcast for a few years and I always learn something.

I was able to spend a few minutes talking with Nate Driver, Brain Retterer, Angela & Bill Bergeman, Jeff Chandler, Phil Hoyt and others. It is always very interesting talking with these folks. You may pick up some good info on WordPress or you may learn something about chickens.

Now, I am not really sure who is photo bombing who in the photo but you can tell we are having a good time. Thanks Nathan!
